Questions and answers

What is a paper fortune teller?

A folded paper game, also called a cootie catcher, chatterbox, salt cellar or origami fortune teller; in German it is Himmel und Hölle. It has four outer fields, eight numbers inside and eight hidden fields under the flaps.

How do you play a fortune teller?

Pick an outer field and spell it, one flap per letter. Pick a visible number and flap that many times. Pick one more number, lift the flap and read what is underneath.

Is the fortune teller maker free?

Yes. No account, no ads, no tracking. If you like it, you can buy kinscabin a coffee.

Do I need special paper to print the template?

Plain A4 printer paper works; 100 to 120 g paper folds crisper. Print the PDF at 100 %, not fit to page.

Can I use it in the classroom?

Yes. Vocabulary, maths facts, icebreakers, reading practice: fill the hidden fields with questions and print one sheet per student.

Can I add photos?

Yes. Photos stay in your browser and go into the PDF. They are not uploaded to the community; only text is shared there.

Where is my design saved?

In your browser on this device. Nothing leaves your browser unless you share the sheet in the community.

What is the community?

A gallery of text-only sheets shared by other players: load one into the editor, print it or change it. Uploads are checked automatically and can be reported.
